The Inferno pitching instructional concepts are rooted in a philosophy that stresses these points of emphasis:

Pitching Mechanics

*  Less pre-motion (for beginners) and more efficient / get movement going forward

*  Tie the Hip and Whip together – work on the Power Stride mentality

*  Encourage the Attaching mentality / pitch to the count

*  Directional pitching / speed up arm

 

Mental UCoach Development

*  Build on the UCOACH concept;   50 / 50

*  Increase confidence and Speed to develop confidence

*  Enjoy the intricacies of the skill development process

 

Video Visual learning tool & Strength

*  Utilize the Coaches Eye APP to share good coaching pointers

*  Utilize the video of current pitchers form through the Heja App

*  Continuously work to develop stability in the shoulder, more leg strength and the overall body strength

 

Inferno Age specific growth and progression:

14U

  • Refine pre-motion to add aggressive leg drive
  • Focus on generating leg drive and directional consistency
  • Develop and stress the attaching mentality
  • Pitch to count and Strategic situations
  • Work towards spinning of movement pitches and increase FB MPH
  • Talk about leadership as the pitcher

 

12U:

  •  Intro drills to address the change to a bigger ball and new pitching distance
  •  Focus on the Strategic aspect of the game (work with catcher/coach)
  •  Utilize the video visual training form tools
  •  Perform Long Toss and develop awareness of Leg Push (shin angle)
  •  Work on Power Stride position
  •  Learn to pitch to catcher call / Change up often
  •  Intro situational bunting and slapping pitch placement (and pick up)

 

10U:

  • Develop the concept of Inside and Outside pitching
  • Introduce the Change up grip form /release point
  • Work to increase arm speed while maintaining form integrity
  • Develop the SPIN and Ucoach concepts
  • Implement upper body strengthen (body weight)

 

8U:

  • Intro Grip and Whip concepts
  • Intro the Circle pattern concepts
  • Learn about the Power Line
  • Focus on Repetition and how they feel
